AJ Turner is a dedicated husband, father, and community advocate rooted in Beaumont. He earned a B.A. in Sociology from Wiley College and has built a record of service focused on practical solutions and people-first leadership. Through hands-on work in the community, AJ has developed strengths in behavior solutions, public-relations networking, strategic brand positioning, statistical data analysis, and team leadership. A faith-driven servant leader, AJ is now running for Jefferson County Commissioner, Precinct 4 to bring accountable, results-oriented leadership to county government and deliver progress for every neighborhood.
As a City Councilman At-Large, I stayed focused on public safety and disaster preparedness. I helped prioritize the Real-Time Crime Center, which is already assisting investigators and making Beaumont safer. I also worked to secure high-water rescue vehicles so our city is better prepared for hurricanes and emergencies. Now, as a candidate for Jefferson County Commissioner, Precinct 4, I will take that same results-driven approach to the county—strengthening partnerships with law enforcement, expanding real-time data sharing, and improving countywide emergency readiness to protect every neighborhood.

As a Beaumont resident, I’ve focused on creating real opportunities for young people. I helped initiate the Beaumont Youth Council, bringing the city’s first Texas Municipal League–sanctioned youth conference—welcoming 225 students from across Texas and generating $20,000+ in local revenue. I sponsored a Youth Talent Show where 1,000+ participants showcased their gifts and brought our community together. I worked to establish the City of Beaumont Youth Basketball League, a free, structured program that builds skills and character. And I helped launch Beaumont’s first Youth Swim Team, giving kids the chance to learn to swim and compete—an important safety investment in a flood-prone region. I’m proud of this progress, but there’s more to do. As a candidate for Jefferson County Commissioner, Precinct 4, I’ll expand partnerships that grow youth programs countywide, secure resources for safe facilities, and keep opportunity within reach for every family.
As a City Councilman At-Large, I focused on growth with accountability: built Economic Development and Communications capacity; introduced tools like a TIRZ, a voluntary beautification fee, and hotel/convention sales-tax recapture; secured a full-time grant writer; and championed Buy Local. I also worked with state leaders to expand opportunities for local contractors and explore targeted property-tax relief for long-time homeowners—especially seniors, veterans, and city employees. Now I’m running for Jefferson County Commissioner, Precinct 4 to bring this results-driven approach countywide.
This campaign is fueled by everyday people who believe in the work we’ve started. If you’re one of them, I’d be truly grateful for your support.
